Tuna Casserole

Ingredients | |
3 cups | medium noodles |
1/2 cup | soft bread crumbs |
1 tbsp | melted butter |
1 cup | chopped celery |
1/4 cup | butter |
1/4 cup | flour |
1/2 tsp | dry mustard |
2 cups | milk |
1 9oz can | tuna, drained |
1 cup | cheddar cheese, cubed 4oz |
1/4 cup | chopped roasted red sweet pepper |
salt to taste | |
black pepper to taste |
Directions
1. Cook noodles according to package, drain and set aside
2. Meanwhile, combine bread crumbs & 1 tbsp melted butter; set aside
3. In medium saucepan, sauté celery & onion in 1/4 cup butter until tender
4. Stir in flour, salt, pepper, and dry mustard
5. Add milk all at once
6. Cook over medium heat until slightly thickened and bubbly, stir often
7. Combine sauce, tuna, noodles
8. Transfer to 1 1/2 quart casserole dish
9. Sprinkle with bread crumbs
10. Bake uncovered at 375* for 20 to 25 minutes or until crust is golden brown
