Marinated Green Beans... 3/4 C. sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, 1/3 C. vegetable oil, 2/3 C. cider vinegar, 3 (14 oz.) cans whole green beans, drained, 1 onion, cut in rings (I use purple onion for color), crumbled bacon (if desired) just before serving. Mix sugar and next 4 ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Pour over green beans and onion and marinate in refrigerator for 24 hours. Stir them at some point. I drain them before serving. Be sure and use WHOLE green beans. Good luck and Happy Valentine's Day!
