    500g  mixed fruit
    1 ½ cups  sugar
    1 tablespoon  golden syrup
    125g  butter
1 level teaspoon bicarb soda
    1 cup  cold water
Boil together these ingredients for 20 mins. Allow to cool. ADD
    2  eggs beaten
    1 cup  cold mashed pumpkin
Beat until smooth. ADD
    1 cup  sifted plain flour
    1 cup  sifted SR flour

Mix well.
Turn into a deep-sided tin lined with baking paper. Bake in a moderately slow oven 1 ½ to 2 hours.
It’s a moist cake.
