Tex-Mex Cornbread

1 large | egg |
1 cup | Martha White self-rising enriched yellow corn meal mix |
1 (8.5oz) can | cream-style corn |
1/2 cup | milk |
2 Tbsp. | vegetable oil |
1 tsp. | sugar |
1 cup | shredded sharp cheddar cheese |
2 Tbsp. | chopped jalapeƱo peppers or 2 Tbsp. green chiles |
Directions
PREHEAT oven to 450*F.
Coat 8x8" pan with no-stick cooking spray.
Beat egg in medium bowl. Stir in corn meal mix, corn, milk, oil, sugar, cheese, and peppers until smooth. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm.
Makes 6 to 9 servings.
