Chocolate Sauce

1 can | sweetened condensed milk |
2 squares (2 oz.) | unsweetened chocolate |
1/8 tsp. | salt |
1/2-1 c. | hot water |
1/2 tsp. | vanilla |
Put condensed milk, chocolate and salt in top of double boiler. Cook over rapidly boiling water, stirring often, until thick (about 10 minutes). Remove from heat. Slowly stir in water (amount depending on consistency desired). Cool. Stir in vanilla. Serve with ice cream, cake or pudding. Makes 2-2 1/2 cups.
