Chocolate Waffle Cookies

1 1/2 c. | sugar |
1 c. | butter |
4 | eggs |
2 tsp. | vanilla |
2 c. | flour |
1/2 c. | cocoa, (scant) |
salt, (pinch) |
Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture. Batter will be quite stiff. Spoon rounded teaspoonful of batter on hot waffle iron and bake ony a minute or 2. May frost these 4 or 5 cookies while the next ones bake. It takes about 1 can of frosting for 1 batch of cookies. Yield: 4 dozen
