      plain flour
      baking powder
      bicarbonate of soda
      salt
      margarine
      granulated sugar
      egg
      apples
      candied peel
      walnuts

9x5 Loaf tin

Mix flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Set aside

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, beat in eggs until blended.

Add flour mixture alternately with shredded apple blending well after each addition.

Stir in lemon peel and nuts. Turn into loaf tin

Bake 50-60 mins. Leave in tin 10 mins then turn out to cool completely.

Wrap airtight and leave overnight before serving.
