      braising steak
      stout
      salted butter
      plain flour
      cooking oil
      onions
      beef stock canned
      carrots
      french bread

Pre heat oven. Toss meat in flour. Heat 2 tbsp oil in large oven proof casserole, add meat and brown all over. Remove meat from casserole.

Add remaining oil and onion and cook 4-5 mins. Return meat to casserole. Add stock and stout and bring to boil, stirring.

Add carrots and season. Cover and cook in oven 2.25 hrs.

Spread butter onto french bread. Increase oven to 200

Uncover casserole, lay bread over meat butter side up. Cook uncovered for 15-20 mins until lightly golden.
