    1 1/2 cups  sugar
    3/4 cup  light brown sugar
    1/2 cup  milk
    6 Tablespoons  butter, (3/4 stick)
    1 1/2 cups  pecans, roasted
    1 Tablespoon  vanilla

Line your countertops with aluminum foil, parchment paper, or wax paper and lightly butter the surface. If using wax paper, buffer with newspaper underneath so the wax won't transfer to the countertops.

Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a soft ball stage (238-240 degrees) stirring constantly.

Remove from heat.

Stir until mixture thickens, becomes creamy and cloudy, and pecans stay suspended in the mixture.

Spoon out onto buttered wax paper, aluminum foil or parchment paper.

Makes 1-50 pralines, depending on size.
