Snowflake Cookies

2/3 c. | sugar |
1 | egg |
1 tsp. | vanilla |
2 ½ c. | flour |
Frosting: | |
¾ c. | powdered sugar |
1 Tbsp. | butter |
1 Tbsp. | milk |
½ tsp. | vanilla |
¼ tsp. | lemon juice |
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and mix well. Add vanilla and flour, mixing until well blended. Chill dough 3 to 4 hours before rolling (not always necessary – just as long as they’re not too sticky). Preheat oven to 350. Roll out and cut. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 8 to 10 minutes. Cool. For frosting melt butter and combine all ingredients, beating until smooth. Thin with milk if necessary.
