Gran's Famous Potatoes

| 2 packages | Ore Ida shredded hash browns |
| 1 quart | half & half |
| 1 stick | unsalted butter,, (reserve one tbsp for top) |
| Parmesan cheese to sprinkle on top. | |
| White pepper | |
| salt to taste | |
Thaw frozen potatoes. Warm half & half for 3.5-4 minutes in microwave. Mix h&h with potatoes in large pot on stove. Allow to bubble and thicken. Add salt and white pepper. After well mixed transfer to 9 x 13 Pyrex dish. Dot with butter and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake @ 350 for approximately 30 mins or brown and bubbly on top.
