MARGARINE, alternative | |
1 1/2 CUPS | SUGAR |
3 1/2 TO 4 CUPS | FLOUR |
2 TEAS. BAKING POWDER | |
1/2 c | MILK |
1 teas honey | |
1 Cup | sesame seeds, (you may need to double amt) |
Chopped Pistachio nuts., (about 1 cup or more) |
First, toast sesame seeds in frying pan with 1 t honey (or white Karo syrup)
Keep stirring. this will make the seeds more crisp. Watch so they will not burn. They will stick together but when cool break them apart.
Now cream butter and sugar. Add alternately with the milk, the flour and baking powder.
Keep in refrigerator for 10-15 min as it will be very soft.
Flatten 1 lump ( abt 1 teas ) into the chopped pistachio nuts. Turn over and press into sesame seeds . Press down hard as they will rise a little .
they turn out better when they are thin and flat. Bake with seeds up.
Place on un greased baking pan at 400 for 7 to 8 min. or until lightly brown.
Remove immediately to cool.
