    2qts  milk
    8 oz  butter
    12 oz  sugar
    6 oz  cornstarch
     8 oz   sugar
    12  egg yolks
    2  eggs
    pinch  salt
    2tbsp  vanilla

Bring milk 12 oz sugar and butter to a boil. Mix 8 oz sugar with cornstarch. Add eggs, salt, and vanilla to cornstarch mixture and whisk until smooth.temper with milk mixture and return to the stove and whisk until thick. Cover and rerierate.
