Broccoli and cheese soup

BROCCOLI AND CHEESE SOUP (WITH BEER) | |
1/2 cup | butter |
4 cups | chicken broth, low sodium, no msg |
16 ounces | Cheese Whiz |
1 T. | Worchestire Sauce |
1/2 t. | dry mustard |
1 cup | flour |
1 1/2 cup | half and half |
1/4 cup | chives, dried or fresh |
salt | |
pepper to taste | |
1/2 can | beer, optional |
2-3 bunches | broccoli |
Melt butter in a large sauce pan and add chicken broth, cheese whiz, worchestire sauce and mustard and blend and heat until smooth consistency. Whisk flour and half and half together until smooth, no lumps. Add to soup. Add chives. Steam broccoli and add to soup. Add 1/2 can of beer as option. Salt and pepper to taste
