Marti's Hamburger Soup

1 lb | ground beef |
5 c | water |
1 16 oz can | tomatoes, cut up |
2 med | onions, chopped |
2 stalks | celery, chopped |
1/3 c | rice |
1/4 c | catsup |
1 T | instant beef bouillon granules |
2 t | seasoned salt |
1 t | dried basil, crushed |
1 | bay leaf |
2 | carrots |
Salt | |
Pepper |
In large sauce pan, brown beef
Drain off fat
Add water, undrained tomatoes, onions, carrots, celery, rice, catsup, bouillon, salt, basil & bay leaf
Bring to boil
Reduce heat & simmer
Cover for 1 hour or until vegetables are tender
Season to taste with salt & pepper
Remove bay leaf
Can be cooked in crockpot on high for about 5 hours or low for 10 hours
