Rice Soup with Pork

2 cups | water |
1 TBS | Maggi seasoning |
1/4 tsp | white pepper |
1/4 tsp | galangal powder |
2 stalks | celery, chopped |
8 oz | ground/minced pork |
1 cup | steamed rice |
2 TBS | fish sauce |
2 TBS | oil |
1 tsp | sliced garlic |
cilantro for garnish
Heat water to boiling in a large pot and add the Maggi seasoning, white pepper, galangal powder and chopped celery.
Add pork, rice and fish sauce. Stir thoroughly so that the ground pork is broken up, then heat to boiling and simmer until pork is cooked.
Heat oil in small skillet and fry garlic on med-high heat until golden brown.
Pour rice soup into serving bowl.
sprinkle with fried garlic on top of soup and garnish with cilantro.
Serves 4
