Red Velvet Cake

for cake;
    1/3 cup  cocoa
    3 tablespoons  red food coloring
    1 1/2 teaspoons  vanilla extract
    1/2 cup  sugar
    4  egg yolks
    1 cup  sour cream, (1 cup buttermilk)
    1 teaspoon  salt
    2 1/4 cups  flour
    1 teaspoon  baking soda
    1 teaspoon  white vinegar
for frosting;
    1/2 cup  butter
    8 oz  cream cheese
    1 teaspoon  vanilla extract
    4 cups  powder sugar

Heat oven to 350. Line 2 round 8 inch cake pans set aside. Mix the cocoa, food coloring, and vanilla together in a small bowl and set aside. Beat the butter and sugar together in a large bowl, using a mixer set on medium-high speed. Add the yolk and beat for one more minute. Add the cocoa mixture and beat to combine. Stir Sour cream and salt together and add it in thirds, alternating with the flour. Mix the baking soda with the vinegar and and blend into the batter. Fill each 8 inch round pan with batter. And bake until a toothpick inserted in the cake tests clean. Cool on wire rack.
For Frosting:
Mix Butter and Cream Cheese and 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract in a bowl till well mixed. Then add one cup at a time of Sugar.
