Buttermilk waffles
Nb persons: 6
Dry ingredients: | |
2 cups | all-purpose flour |
1/4 teaspoon | baking soda |
1 1/2 teaspoons | double-acting baking powder |
1 tablespoon | sugar |
1/2 teaspoon | salt |
Liquid ingredients: | |
2 | eggs |
1 3/4 cups | buttermilk |
6 tablespoons | butter, melted |
Sift together the dry ingredients.
Beat in a separate bowl the egg yolks, mix with the buttermilk and the melted butter.
Combine with the dry ingredients with a few swift strokes.
Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold them into the batter.
Cook in a waffle iron following the manufacturer's instructions.
Makes 6 waffles.
