Tortilla Soup

2 C. | chicken, diced or shredded |
1 | onion, chopped |
2 tsp. | garlic |
2 Tbsp. | oil |
1 16 oz. can | stewed tomatoes |
1 16 oz. can | stewed Mexican tomatoes |
1 4 oz. can | green chilies |
1 can | chicken broth |
1 can | beef broth |
1 tsp. | chili powder |
1 tsp. | cumin |
1/4 tsp. | salt |
Sauté onion and garlic until tender. Add all other ingredients except chicken. Simmer 45 minutes. Add cooked chicken and simmer 10 minutes. Garnish with diced avocados, crushed tortilla chips and shredded Monterey Jack cheese.
