Mexican Corn Bread

1 cup | corn meal |
1 TBSP | flour |
1 cup | buttermilk |
1 | egg |
1 can | corn, cream |
1/2 tsp | baking soda |
1/2 lb. | cheddar cheese, shredded |
2 | jalapeno pepper, chopped finely |
1 | onion, chopped finely |
1 tsp | baking powder |
1/2 tsp | salt |
1/3 cup | bacon grease |
Mix meal, flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Stir in buttermilk and egg. Add corn, onion, peppers and mix well. Add grease and cheese then stir well. Pour into well greased baking dish. Cook until brown.
