    18oz  shelled hazelnuts, roasted. 18ozdark chocolate,in small pieces
18ozunsalted butter, at room temperature
    18oz  caster sugar
    12 med  free range eggs

Oven. Gas2/150c/300f. Serves 16.
Melt chocolate, do not stir. Using a whisk beat butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Slowly add melted chocolate. Add eggs one at a time. Fold in crushed nuts. Pour mixture into prepared 12" baking tin and bake for 40-50 mins. Turn off oven but leave torte in and the door ajar for a further 30 mins. Remove from tin when completely cool.
