Ingredients | |
Steak or stew meat | |
1/4 cup | Shortening |
oil, alternative | |
4 tablespoons | Flour |
8 cups | Lukewarm water |
Instructions
1. Cut up small pieces of steak or stew meat
2. Cook in skillet on low until done. Use a little tenderizer if necessary.
3. Remove from skillet and set aside in bowl.
4. Add approximately 1/4 cup shortening or oil to skillet & heat on medium for 2-3 minutes
5. Add 4-6 Tbsp flour (1 Tbsp at a time) stirring constantly.
6. Brown the flour to a brown color & remove from heat.
7. Add 5-8 cups of luke warm water (1 cup at a time) stir constantly so it doesn't lump.
8. Put it back on low heat for a few minutes - add the beef & mix well.
