    1c  butter softened
    1 1/2c  sugar
    3 lg  eggs
    3  egg whites
      yolks
    1 tbsp  vanilla
    3 1/4c  flour
    2 1/2 tsp  baking powder
    1/4 tsp  salt
    1 1/4c  milk

In bowl with mixer, beat butter and sugar until pale yellow and fluffy. Add eggs, then yolks, one at a time eating well after each one. Beat in vanilla.
In another bowl mix flour, baking powder, and salt stir about 1/3 of flour mix into egg bowl. Stir in half the milk until blended. Stir in another 1/3 flour, then rest of milk and then remaining flour. Scrape batter into two buttered 9in cake pans.
Bake at 350 25-30 mins
