Low Fat Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients: | |
2 1/2-3 cups | all-purpose flour |
1/4 cup | granulated sugar |
1 package | rapid rise yeast |
2 tbsp | non-fat dry milk powder |
3/4 tsp | salt |
3/4 cup | very warm water, (120-130*) |
1 6oz jar | pear, (baby food) |
1 1/2 cups | whole wheat flour |
3 | egg whites |
2 tbsp | honey |
1/3 cup | packed brown sugar |
1 tbsp | ground cinnamon |
3/4 cups | raisins |
Powdered sugar icing
Method:
1.In a large bowl, combine 1 cup all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, undissolved yeast, dry milk powder & salt.
2.Stir in water, baby food & whole-wheat flour.
3.Stir in egg whites & enough remaining all-purpose flour to make soft dough.
4.On lightly floured surface, knead dough until smooth & elastic, about 4-6 minutes.
5.Cover; let it rest on the floured surface for 10 minutes.
6.Roll dough to 18*12" rectangle.
7.Brush honey on dough; evenly sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon & raisins.
8.Beginning at long end, roll up tightly, pinch seam to seal.
9.Cut into 12 equal pieces.
10.Place cut sides up, in a greased 13*9" baking pan.
11.Cover, let it rise in warm, draft-free place until doubled in size, for about 30-40 minutes.
12.Bake at 375* for 25-30 minutes or until done.
13.Remove from pan & cool on wire rack.
14.Drizzle powdered sugar on the rolls.
