Ingredients (preparation of dough): 250 gms (9 oz), plain flour (maida) 10 gms (1/3 oz), fresh yeast/1 tsp dry yeast | |

1/2 tsp | sugar |
1/2 tsp | salt |
Ingredients (preparation for the Topping): | |
1 packet (200 gms) | fresh mushrooms or 2 teacups cooked corn |
1 | chopped onion |
1 | chopped capsicum |
1 tbsp | oil |
1 tsp | lemon juice |
2 chopped green chillies | |
Salt to taste | |
Ingredients (for the pizza sauce): 500 gms red tomatoes | |
1 | onion, chopped |
3 cloves | garlic, crushed |
1/2 tsp | chilli powder |
1 tsp | sugar |
2 tbsp | oil |
Salt to taste | |
Ingredients (for baking): | |
1 t.cup | white sauce |
5-6 tbsp | grated cheese |
Method:
(preparation of pizza dough)
1.Sieve the flour with the sugar & salt.
2.Add the oil & mix well.
3.Make a well in the centre, crumble the yeast & put in this well.
4.Sprinkle 1/2 t.cup of warm water over the yeast, wait for 5 minutes.
5.Mix the yeast with the flour, add enough water to make a semi-soft dough.
6.Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes.
7.Cover the dough with a wet cloth & leave for 45 minutes or until double in size.
8.Knead the dough for 1 minute.
(preparation of the topping)
1.Heat the oil and fry the onion for 1 minute.
2.Add the capsicum and green chillies and fry again for 1 minute.
3.Chop the mushrooms.
4.Add the chopped mushrooms, lemon juice and salt and cook for 3 minutes.
5.Drain.
(preparation of pizza sauce)
1.Chop the tomatoes and drain the liquid.
2.Heat the oil and fry the onion and garlic for 1-2 minutes.
3.Add the chopped tomatoes, chilli powder, sugar, salt & boil until the tomatoes are soft.
4.Blend in a liquidiser.
(preparation of pizza)
1.Roll out the dough into thin puri's to fit a muffin tray.
2.Grease a muffin tray thoroughly and press the puri's inside.
3.After 10 minutes, spread a little topping, plenty of pizza sauce & little white sauce on each round.
4.Sprinkle the cheese on top and bake in a hot oven at 200*C (400*F) for 10-12 minutes.
5.Serve hot.
