| 1; pound sausage (can be hot sausage if desired), |
1; small box of "Velveeta" or similar cheese
1; loaf small rye or pumpernickel bread.
Preheat oven to 350. Cook/brown the sausage then drain off the fat. Cut the cheese into cubes and then add to pot and melt. Once melted, add the sausage to the cheese and mix thoroughly over light to medium heat until coated and mixed well.
Spoon mix onto the bread slices and onto a cookie sheet. Cook in oven for 15 minutes or until cheese just turns golden.
(Some recipes call for half ground beef and half sausage, I prefer all sausage, but would mix hot and regular sausage!)
Cheese mixture on bread will be very hot when they first come out of the oven!!
