1 cup | butter |
12 tbsp (3/4 cup) | cocoa, natural |
2 cups | sugar |
2 tsp | vanilla extract |
4 | whole eggs |
1 1/2 cups | all-purpose flour |
1/2 cup | powdered sugar to shift on top |
Method:
1.Preheat oven to 325*C, and grease a 9x13 inch glass pan.
2.Melt butter in a small pan over low heat, then shift in cocoa and whisk until smooth.
3.Pour into a large mixing bowl, let it cool.
4.Add sugar and pure vanilla extract, mix well, lightly whisk the eggs; then add to butter and stir to blend.
5.Add flour and stir until combined.
6.Brownies should be stirred by hand, until just blended.
7.Add nuts if desired, spoon into baking dish.
8.Bake for 30-40 minutes, until the middle springs back when lightly pressed and the edges start to pull away from the sides of the pan.
9.Let it cool then shift powdered sugar over the top, if desired.
10.Cut into small squares and store in a covered container.
