    8 c.  Original or cinnamon Quaker oat squares cereal
    2 c.  Pecan pieces
    1/2 c.  Light corn syrup
    1/2 c.  Firmly packed brown sugar
    1/4 c.  Margarine, (1/2 stick)
    1 tsp.  Vanilla
    1/2 tsp.  Baking soda

Heat oven to 250 degrees. Combine cereal and pecans in a 9 by13" pan. Set aside.

Combine corn syrup, brown sugar, and margarine in a 2-c microwaveable bowl. Microwave at HIGH 1 1/2 minutes. Stir. Microwave 1/2 to 1 1/2 minutes more or until boiling. Stir in vanilla and baking soda and pour over cereal mixture. Stir to coat evenly.

Bake 1 hour stirring every 20 mins. Spread on baking sheets to cool. Break into pieces.
