Lentil Soup

For 8 to 10 hours in slow cooker | |
2 cups | dry lentils, rinsed |
1 cup | chopped carrots |
1 cup | chopped onion |
1 cup | chopped celery |
2 to 3 cloves | garlic, peeled |
1 to 2 | bay leaves |
½ teaspoon | salt |
½ teaspoon | dried marjoram |
¼ teaspoon | white pepper |
1 (10.5-ounce) can | vegetable broth |
Put the lentils in the slow cooker. Add the remaining ingredients, including 6 cups water and cover with the lid. Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours. Adjust the seasonings with additional salt and pepper, if necessary. Remove and discard the bay leaves before serving.
