2 tablespoons | vegetable oil |
1½ pounds | ground sirloin |
1 | onion, chopped |
1 | green bell pepper, chopped |
1 teaspoon | minced garlic |
2 teaspoons | all-purpose steak seasoning |

hamburger buns, alternative |
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat, and when the oil is hot, sauté the meat, onion, green pepper, garlic, and steak seasoning until the meat is browned and the onion and green pepper are limp. Transfer the mixture to the slow cooker. Add the remaining ingredients and stir to mix well. Cover with the lid and cook on low for 2 to 4 hours. Cook’s Note: Serve your Sloppy Joes
on tortillas or open-faced on hearty
bread slices. For an extra treat, melt
Cheddar cheese on top of the open-faced
sandwiches. If your family is game, try
serving the meat over cornbread! And one
last idea—serve over oven-baked French
fries and top with melted cheese for a
homemade batch of Chili Cheese Fries.
