Split Pea Soup with Ham

10 cups | water, chicken broth, or mixture of both |
4 cups | dried split peas, rinsed and picked cleaned |
1 cup | diced ham |
1 cup | chopped celery |
1 cup | chopped onion |
1 cup | sliced carrots |
1 teaspoon | salt |
½ teaspoon | pepper |
¼ teaspoon | crushed dried marjoram |
1 | bay leaf |
Put all the ingredients into the slow cooker. Cover with the lid and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours. Or cook on high for 6 hours, until the split peas are tender.
