Grandmother's Mandarin Orange Pie

1 1/4 cup | water |
15 oz. | can mandarin oranges, , more if want to decorate top of pie. |
3 oz. | orange jello gelatin |
8 oz | Cool Whip |
9 inch | graham cracker crust |
Partially defrost Cool Whip (1-2 hrs in fridge). Boil water and juice from can of mandarin oranges, totalling 1 1/4 cup. Add gelatin and mix well. Chill in freezer for 20-30 minutes or until the top begins to gel. Fold in Cool Whip. Add mandarin oranges and mix. Pour mandarin filling into graham cracker crust. Freeze in pie-crust until ready to serve, approx. 30 minutes to 1 hour. Garnish with mandarin oranges on top before serving (optional).
