Preheat oven to 400• bake 1 loaf firm white bread cubes 20-25 mins Place together:
    5 stalks  celery, chopped
    1 large  onion, chopped
    1/2 cup  butter
    1/2 cup  sage, chopped
    1 tsp  salt
    1/4 tsp  pepper
    1/2 cup  parsley

In bottom if slow cooker
Top with toast and
3 firm ripe apples or pears in chunks
Cover and cook on low 5 1/2 hrs.
