2 lb | Serloin Steak, cut into 1/4 inch strips |
1/4 cup | lemon juice |
1/4 cup and 2 Tbs. | soy sauce |
1 tsp. | ground pepper |
salt to taste | |
2 | onions, cut into thinly sliced rings |
1/4 cup | vegetable oil,, (or less as desired) |
3/4 cup | water |
1 tsp | sugar |
french fries, (optional, to place on top of meat)
1. Marinate meat in lemon juice, soy sauce, ground pepper, and salt for 3 hours (or more). Can marinate a day ahead & leave in fridge.
2. Cook onion rings in oil at medium, to medium-low heat until transparent & caramelized, about 20-25 minutes. Transfer onions to serving dish, leaving oil in pan.
3. Add meat to pan and cook over high heat, stiring often, until tender. Transfer meat to serving dish.
4. Add marinade, sugar and water to pan, simmer for 10-15 minutes (or until reduced) and pour over the meat and onion rings.
5. Top with optional french fires and serve with rice.
