Rice pudding

    1/2 gallon  milk
    1/4 pound  butter
    3/4 cup  sugar
    1 cup  rice
    one  egg
    1/2 pint  heavy cream
    1 teaspoon  vanilla
    1 ounce  Amaretto
      cinnamon

Bring milk, sugar and butter to a boil. Stir rice into milk and lower to a simmer. Cook for 45 minutes making sure to stir often. Beat together the egg ,cream ,vanilla and Amaretto and add to the cooked rice. Mix thoroughly and put into a serving dish, let cool. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Refrigerate.
